     Directions to Settlers Vacation House
Hi

The first thing you will have to do is get to Ellsworth, Maine.  

If coming from Bangor, go straight through the third light at the intersection with Main Street.

If coming from coastal "Route 1" it will turn into Main Street in Ellsworth. After you drive over the bridge about two hundred yards from there make a right onto High Street at the light.

From here continue on High Street until you get to the traffic light that is after the Walgreens on the left but before the McDonalds restaurant that is on the right.

From that traffic light take a left and follow Rte. 1 for 17.4 mile until you get to Rte 186. (You will see signs there for Winter Harbor).

Take a right and come down that road about six miles until you are looking right at the water.  Now you're in downtown Winter Harbor.

Make a left and go 2 miles.

It's on the left just a hundred yards or so after you get to the Gouldsboro town boundry post and the post is also on the left side of the road.

That's it you're there.   You really can't miss it.

Check in after 4:30PM.
Check out is by 11am.

Although I won't be there to greet you, please go in and make your self at home.   I'll leave a "WELCOME" on your door.   Relax or go sight seeing and enjoy your vacation.   I'll try to get by early to say hi.

Please Note:
1.  The grocery stores here on the peninsula usually close by 7 or 8pm.  So if you are arriving late you may want to stop in Ellsworth at the Hannafords or Shaws supermarkets or the Walmart super store for food or supplies.
2.  For those who are not paid in full prior to arrival the alternate check-in directions are below.



I know there are still those of you that are squeemish about doing business on the internet with people you don't know.  It is certainly understandable.  At times I have the same reservations in reverse.   It is much more convenient for the both of us if you fully pay the rental prior to arrival.  So I would suggest and remind you to pay with a credit card at Paypal.  That way you can have peace of mind.

The rental must be paid in full before you get the premises but as long as you do not mind you may also pay for the balance of your rental upon arrival.  Please bring the balance in the form of cash, money order or travelers check(s).  And again you will go directly to the house.   Then give me a call on the phone 207-963-5508 or 207-460-6615 and if I am not there announce your arrival on my answering machine.  When I become available I will come down collect the remainder of the rent and give you the keys.
